Introduction of Tally
Tally is a Financial accounting software this is developed by Peutronics Pvt. Ltd. in year 1988 and this Company is situated in India country, Bangalore city.
How to Open Tally
You can open Tally.ERP9 software by double clicking on Tally.ERP9 icon. The first step is how to create a company, and without creating a company you will not create Ledger, Voucher and business transactions etc.
Create a New Company (Alt+F3)
You can easily create a company in Tally.ERP9 by using the below path.
Path: Gateway of Tally –> ALT+F3 –> Click on Create Company
You have to go through the above path and fill the information related to your company like, address of company, contact details and other information.
Click on create company, once you click on create company then the below screen will appear.
Name: In this Field Enter company name like, XYZ Company
Mailing Name : In this filed fill Company Short Name otherwise auto fill Default name.
Address: In this Filed Enter company address.
Country: In this Filed Drop Down and Select country like – India.
State: In this Filed Drop Down and Select Own State like – Uttar Pradesh
Pin Code: In this Filed Enter own area pin code Number.
Telephone: In this Filed Enter own Landline telephone number.
Mobile No: In this Filed Enter Company mobile number.
Fax No: In this Filed Enter Company Fax number
Email: In this Filed Enter company official communication E-mail id
Website: In this Filed Enter company website address like – www.tallysolution.com
Financial year begins from: In this Filed Enter financial year begins from like, 01.04.2020
Books beginning from: Most of the cases financial year begins date and books beginning date are same.
Security Control: In this Filed very useful option in Tally by activating this option you can avoid unauthorized access of company data.
Use security control: This Filed set Yes if you set Security Control.
Use Tally Audit features: This feature is for Chartered Accountants to audit the company books of accounts directly.
Disallow opening in Education mode: If you have no License so set Yes.
Base Currency symbol: In this Filed set own Country Currency symbol.
Formal Name: INR is formal name of the currency in India
Is Symbol Suffixed to Amounts: If required you can enable this option Yes.
Add space between amount and symbol: Yes, this option set space between amount and currency symbol like ₹ 950
Show Amount in Millions: No.
Number of decimal place: Yes, Generally will use 2 decimals for paisa purpose in India like- Rs.50.50
Word representing amount after decimal: Yes, It is by default set as paisa in Tally and not require any changes.
No. of decimal places for amount in words: Yes, This is for decimal places for amount in words like- Two Thousand Twenty Five paise.
Alter Company Information
By this option you can Update company info by using shortcut key ALT+F3 like – Company Name, Address, Mobile No. and all options.
Shut Company
By this option Close (Shut) current open Company.
Select Company
By this option open Already and shut company.
Create Group Company
By this option Create Group Company. Group company is member of 2 Company.
Change Tally Vault
By this option change Tally Vault Password.
Split Company Data
By this option Split Company Financial year.
Bakup Company Data
By this option create Company backup data. This is important option when company incase corrupt or delete.
Restore Company Data
When company is crash and delete then you restore save Company Backup Data.
Delete Company
By This option Delete Open Company. You select Alter option and Press Alt+D ask software Delete Company Y or N you say Y and delete company. Once delete company is a permanent delete in company list.
Quit
This option by quit Tally Programe.
